Eight coaches in ten years—the 1920s were a turbulent decade for the Tigers football program. From Ross Core’s debut to Bill Metzger’s close, the team went 26–45–9 overall, peaking with a 6–3 mark in 1927 under George Roark. Rosters are incomplete for all seasons.

Roark’s third year produced the decade’s best campaign. The Tigers outscored opponents 134–51 and rattled off five straight wins in the middle of the year, including a dominant 44–0 rout at St. Marys.
